Morgan County Commissioners have posted a draft wind ordinance and officials expect to vote on it in early to mid-July. There is still time for you to let them know that you want Morgan County to share in the jobs and new tax revenues for schools, roads and other county services that wind energy has brought to other Illinois counties. The Lincoln Land Wind project promises to bring Morgan County $65.6 million in new tax revenue — money that can be used to support local schools, fire districts, government services, road repairs, and much more. In addition, participating landowners will receive $3 million in annual lease payments over this same time frame. Tell your Commissioners that you want an ordinance that enables wind energy development and the jobs and new tax revenues that come with it.
